Difference between Will & Be going to

In my lesson I’m going to talk about difference between Will and Be going to


In the First
للتحدث عن المستقبل يمكننا استخدام :
To talk about future,we can use:
• زمن المستقبل future tense
• زمن المضارع البسيط present simple


تركيب الجمله يكون :
Affirmative
will + verb
am / is / are + going to + verb

Negative
will not / won't + verb
am / is / are not + going to + verb


But I'm going to explain for you about difference between them and similarity in one thing
ولكني سأوضح لكم الفرق بينهما والتشابه في شئ واحد.

First:
Difference between them
Will:
We use will when:
نستخدم will عندما


1- To give or ask for information or facts about the future.
لإعطاء أو طلب معلومات أو حقائق عن المستقبل.
E.g:
Her parents will be here in about an hour.
سيكون والديها هنا في حوالي ساعة
All her friends will come to her wedding.
سيأتي/سيحضر كل أصدقائها الى زواجها

2- For plans or decisions made at the time of speaking.(at the moment)
للحصول على الخطط أو القرارات التي اتخذت في وقت الكلام
.في نفس اللحظه اللي هم يتكلمون فيها قرر فعل الشئ

E.g:
.Oh, I've left the door open. I'll go and shut it*

أوه,لقد تركت الباب مفتوحا ,سأذهب وأغلقه
.Did you phone Sara? Oh no, I forget. I'll phone her now*
هل كلمتي ساره؟ اوه، لا انا نسيت .سأحادثها الآن /اتكلم معها الآن

3- To offer to do something.( help )
لتقديم عرض لفعل شئ ما (تقديم المساعدة للشخص)

E.g:
Sara :I lost my book
أضعت كتابي
Amany:No problem. I'll help you find it
.لاعليكِ ,سأساعدك لنجده/لأجده

That bag looks heavy. I'll help you with it.
تبدو تلك الحقيبة ثقيله . سأساعدك في حملها

4- To agree to do something.

الموافقة على عمل شئ ما
E.g:
Okay, I'll come with you.
حسنا,سآتي معك
.....
5- To promise to do something.
الوعد على عمل شئ ما
E.g:

I promise my son If he get 100 in math I'll give him a new car
وعدت ابني لو/إذا اخذ 100 في الرياضيات سأعطية سيارة جديده
I won’t tell anyone your secret.I promise you
لن اخبر احد عن سرك.أعدك.

To make requests (or give orders)( help) -6
تقديم طلبات (أو إعطاء الأوامر). وايضا طلب المساعده

E.g:
Will you open the door for me please?
هل سوف تفتح الباب لاجلي من فضلك؟
I need to change the oil in my car. Will you help me?
أحتاج ان أغير الزيت في سيارتي هل ستساعدني؟
Of course, I'll help you.
بالطبع.سأساعدك


7- To refuse to do something or talk about refusals.
لرفض عمل شئ ما او الحديث عن الرفض


E.g:
I've asked him but he won't do it
لقد سألته لكنه لن يفعل ذلك (رفض العمل/ان يفعل)
I've tried to advise her but she won't listen.
لقد حاولت نصحها لكنها لن تستمع (رفضت الاستماع )

Be going to:
we use be going to when :

1-For plans or decisions made before speaking.
قرارات وخطط اتخذت قبل التكلم /خطط لفعلها مسبقا

E.g:
Is Ahamad coming home soon?
- Yes, I'm going to meet him at the airport tomorrow.
سيأتي احمد المنزل قريبا؟ نعم،سأذهب لمقابلته غدا في المطار

Sara is working next week.
ستعمل سارة الاسبوع القادم.

Similarity:

Use “will/won’t” or “going to” for predictions or statements about the future:
يمكن ان نستخدم will او going to للتنبأ والتوقعات او البيانات حول المستقبل

E.g:

.Where will you be this time next year? I'll be in USA
اين س/سوف تكون في هذا الوقت في السنة القادمه؟ سأكون في أمريكا.
Look at the sky. It's going to rain soon.
انظر الى السماء .س/سوف تمطر قريبا

Don't phone her now, she'll be busy.
لاتكلميها/تهاتفيها الآن.سوف تكون مشغوله

He won’t pass the test. He hasn’t studied at all.
لن يجتاز الاختبار.انه لم يدرس على الإطلاق! (نتبأ بانه مو ناجح لانه مادرس)

*لكن الاختلاف في التنبأ بسيط:
-ان going to
الـ predictions
with
1-evidence (تنبأ مع برهان او شهاده)
2-based on a present fact
E.g:
He's going to fail the exam.
(I notice that he doesn't study much.)
سيخفق في الاختبار (ملاحظه اني مادرس كثير /جيدا )
-لكن will
الـpredictions
without
evidence(تنبأ بدون شهادة او برهان)

Notice:
ملاحظة:
*we usullay use I think I'll
غالبا نستخدم*
I think I'll…
.I think I'll go out today with my friend.
أعتقد بأني سأخرج اليوم مع صديقي
,but
* Don’t use I think… won’t. Use I don't think
لانستخدم I think مع نفي الwill ،نستخدم don't
• I think you won’t like this movie. It’s very violent.
أنا اعتقد انك لن تحب الفيلم.انه عنيف جدا
