Relative Pronouns

Today,I'm going to explain for you "Relative Pronouns" In the beginning:
في البدايه Why do we use relative pronoun?
لماذا نستخدم ضمائر الوصل؟
1-We use relative pronouns: • After a noun, to make it clear which person or thing we are talking about
نستخدمها بعد الاسم ليجعل الشئ اللي نتكلم عنه واضح سواء كان شئ او شخص
We use relative for two reason:2-
نستخدم الضمائر لسبيبين: 1-To replace the subject or object
يحل محل الفاعل او المفعول به 2-Linking sentences to each other
ربط الجمل ببعضها البعض

The most common relative pronouns are who,whom,which,that and whose.
الضمائر الموصوله المشهوره who,whom,that,which و whose
1-Who
We use as subject for people.
*ضمير وصل بمعنى الذي التي ...etc
*نستخدمها لتحل محل الفاعل العاقل ..

Example:
This is Muhammad. He is a doctor
هذا محمد.محمد هو دكتور
كيف نربطها ببعض؟
This is Muhammad
الاسم الموصوف
He is a doctor
جمله الوصل التي تصف الاسم الموصوف
*نبحث عن الاسم الموصوف (Muhammad) ولانه عاقل نستخدم who
*نحذف الضمير (she) في الجمله الثانيه ونضع بدلها Who
*نضع جملة الوصل بعد Who
تصبح هكذا
This is Muhammad who is a doctor
More examples:
My friend cooks well. She lives here
تطبخ صديقتي جيدا.هي تعيش هنا.
My friend who lives here cooks well
The woman was smart.She discovered radium.
كانت المرأه ذكيه. اخترعت هي الراديوم.
The woman who discovered radium was smart
The man is friendly.He lives next to me
الرجل ودود.يعيش هو بجانبي.
The man who lives next to me is friendly.

2-Whom
We use as object for people.

*ضمير وصل بمعنى الذي التي ...etc
*نستخدمها لتحل محل المفعول به العاقل مفرد وجمع
المفعول به مثل him,me..etc
Example:
Three women walked into my office.I diidn't know them
مشت/سارت ثلاث نساء داخل مكتبي.انا لاأعرفهنّ
كيف نربطها ببعض؟ Three women walked into my office.
الاسم الموصوف I didn't know them
جمله الوصل التي تصف الاسم الموصوف
* نبحث عن الاسم الموصوف (three women) عاقل
*نحذف الضمير (them) في الجمله الثانيه
* نضع بدلا منها Whom بعد الاسم الموصوف
*نضع جملة الوصل بعد Whom
تصبح هكذا
Three women whom I didn't know walked into my office.

More example:
The girl gave me some information.I called her.
أعطتني الفتاة بعض المعلومات.انا طلبت منها.
The girl whom I called gave me some information
The people were very good. I met them at the party last night.
كان الناس جيدون جدا.انا قابلتهم في الحفل ليلة الأمس.
The people whom I met at the party last night were very good
Note:

*اذا كان يوجد حرف جر مثل about,on,from etc قبل الضمير الذي يحل محل المفعول به مثل him,her etc نضع حرف الجر قبل الضمير ..وتصبح الجمله رسميه أكثر
*يمكن أن نستغني عن ضمير الوصل فقط في المفعول به


3-Which
We use as the subject or an object for things
*ضمير وصل بمعنى الذي التي ...etc
*نستخدمها لتحل محل الفاعل أو المفعول الغير عاقل

Example:
This is the house. I live in it.
هذا هو المنزل.أنا أعيش فيه.
كيف نربطها ببعض؟
This is the house.
الاسم الموصوف I live in it.
جملة الوصل
* نبحث عن الاسم الموصوف (house) غير عاقل
*نحذف الضمير (it) في الجمله الثانيه والذي يعود على the house
* نختار ضمير وصل Which لان الاسم الموصوف غير عاقل
*نضع بعد which جملة الوصل

تصبح هكذا
This is the house which I live in.
More examples:
The information helped me a lot. I found it on the internet.
ساعدتني المعلومات كثيرا.وجدتها في الإنترنت.
The information which I found on the internet helped me a lot
This book is cheap. It is very useful.
هذا الكتاب رخيض.هو مفيد جدا
This book which is very useful is cheap

4-Whose
We use as the possessive form of who
*تستخدم Whose للملكية.
*ضمير وصل بمعنى الذي التي ...etc
*للاشخاص والأشياء

Example:
The man called the police.His car was stolen.
حادث الرجل الشرطه.كانت سيارته مسروقه.
كيف نربطها مع بعض؟ The man called the police.
الاسم الموصوف
His car was stolen.
جمله الوصل التي تصف الاسم الموصوف
*نحذف الضمير (his) في الجمله الثانيه والذي يعود على the man
* نختار ضمير وصل whose بعد الاسم الموصوف
*نضع بعد whose جملة الوصل
تصبح هكذا
The man whose car was stolen called the police
More examples:
I know a girl.His brother is a movie star.
أعرف الفتاه.أخيها نجم سينمائي
I know a girl whose brother is a moive star.
There is the woman .Her cat died.
هناك المرأه.قطتها ماتت.
There is the waman whose cat died.

5-that

We use as subject or object for people or things.

*ضمير وصل بمعنى الذي التي ...etc
*نستعمل That لتحل محل الفاعل أو المفعول به
العاقل و غير عاقل باستثناء أسماء العلم فلايمكن استخدام ضمير آخر غير who ,whom
*عند وجود كلمة (all)
او صيغ التفضيل.أي الصيغه المنتهيه بـ(est( او المسبوقه بـ the most
يجب ان نربطها بـthat للاشخاص والاشياء ولايجوز استعمال whom or which

Example:
The information helped me a lot. I found it on the internet.
The information (which) I found on the internet helped me a lot
The information that I found on the internet helped me a lot
More examples:
This is the only train that stops here1-
The man that( who) lives next to me is friendly.
The pepole that (whom) I met at party last night were very nice.
Tell me all that you know
Notes:

*صيغ التفضيل مثل first ,last ,only etc استخدامنا فقط that
*مع all استخدمنا فقط that
*استخدمنا that بدلا من which ,who..
